As a fully authorized Davis Instruments dealer, RainmanWeather strictly follows the Davis Instruments' Minimum Advertised Price (MAP) policy so that we may offer the best weather station equipment available to you. What this means is that we must advertise at the higher prices seen and can only offer our best discounted pricing once you have initiated contact with us. By initiating contact with us, either by requesting a product quote or becoming a member, you will then have full access to our discounted pricing within the terms of the policy. We only sell new unused products direct from the manufacturer, the policy we have committed to follows in full detail.
Davis Instruments Minimum Advertised Price Policy (Weather Products)
To ensure that our product image and quality is maintained, Davis Instruments (Davis) enforces a unilateral Minimum Advertised Price (MAP) policy. The general policy covers all of our products, and applies to our weather products as follows:
- Davis weather products (identified by a Davis product number of #6000 to #7999) may not be advertised at a price lower than 10% below the list price printed on our current weather price list.
Please note that the MAP policy refers to the advertised price, which includes catalogs, the Internet, direct mail, shows and events, all printed materials, and any other media used for advertising purposes. Compliance with this policy is voluntary. Davis will enforce this policy by declining to supply resellers who decide not to follow our guidelines.
Davis considers any publicly available published price to be in violation of the MAP policy. Violations specifically include any pricing data that can be found by an anonymous Internet pricing search (such as Froogle and PriceGrabber, among others). Another specific violation is the practice of placing a price below MAP in an anonymous customer’s shopping cart.
Customers who choose to contact any reseller directly and specifically ask for a different price have gone beyond the scope of this policy, because they are no longer receiving publicly available information. This direct contact can be made by phone or email or other means, and allows for special web pages to be created and viewable for a customer only after contact is made.
